Genuinely green products
Each product on Planet Ark Direct has been investigated by Planet Ark. We try to weed out false “green” claims and reject many products that other eco-stores sell. This means our product range is smaller than other eco-stores, but when you shop on Planet Ark Direct you know you're buying genuinely sustainable products.

A percentage of every Planet Ark Direct purchase goes to Planet Ark to support its work in raising awareness of environmental issues.
Saving energy
Why? Reducing greenhouse gas emissions to tackle global warming means reducing our use of fossil fuels. We can all help by using less electricity.
How? Energy-saving products on Planet Ark Direct include water-saving showers (reducing the amount of hot water you use), energy-efficient lightbulbs, insulation, solar products, battery and phone rechargers, water-powered clocks, plant-based paints (because they aren't made from petrochemicals).
Saving water
Why? Australia is the world's driest inhabited continent yet Australians are among the world's most profligate water users. Our current levels of water use will mean more dams altering the flows of our rivers and more depletion of the water table.
How? Key water-saving products on Planet Ark Direct include AAA-rated showers, cistern converters (to reduce the water your toilet uses, tap aerators and greywater diverters (to divert run-off from your washing machine into your garden.
Reducing chemical toxins
Why? Many researchers believe there are links between exposure to hundreds of chemicals in everyday products and health problems ranging from allergies and asthma to cancers and brain damage.
How? Key non-toxic products on Planet Ark Direct include natural bodycare and cleaning products, insect traps/repellents and paints. We stock products made from plant and mineral ingredients that are biodegradeable, free of toxic chemicals and animal products, not tested on animals and, where possible, organic.
